As I was reading through chapter 8 of this weeks assignment, I found that it took entirely too long to get through it. Every time I got to a section where it would suggest you go to a particular site and check out other podcasts, I found myself chasing rabbits of the multitude of quality podcasts that are out there. I was really impressed when I read the section about how you can go to the Itune store and find education podcast already assembled and, more specifically, how you can search down to K-12 podcasts relevant to your grade level. I started to view several educational technology podcasts (some an hour long) and found myself only part way through my reading assignment. I'm anxious to get started with our weekly podcast assignment to see how easy they are supposed to be to create.

Mike I feel so much better knowing that you thought this chapter was difficult to get through at first too. Not because of the material written, but because every time you turned around you were off looking at something else that was recommended. Searching through the relevant podcasts made it so much easier to decipher the material provided and put it into the context that it needed to be in. I too cannot wait to get started and see where it leads me! Good luck in your assignment!
ReplyDeleteI also find it great to be locating all of these resources that can easily be implemented in my classroom! One of my favorite parts of this program is finding resources that you can quickly pick up and use without much "set up" required. I am excited to start using podcasts, especially with the classroom laptop system my school just purchased.
